Our Philosophy

“The best therapeutic results occur, when all supports involved feel educated and empowered to help those in need.”
- Daniel Francis, Owner and Senior Occupational Therapist

At Home

Working within a client’s home setting allows daily living skills such as cooking, dressing and morning routines to be addressed. As well as working in the comfort of their own home.

At School

A strong relationship with teachers and all other supports is essential to get the best therapeutic outcomes for our clients. Have the conversation with your therapist to see if this is suitable for you!

Online

KATS has the capacity to provide therapy through telehealth as well as conducting parent education workshops to support those who are unable to attend therapy sessions.

Paediatric Occupational Therapy

Paediatric: medical care for babies, children and teenagers**

Occupation: everyday activities that people do to occupy time and bring meaning and purpose to life

Therapy: a treatment that helps someone feel better, grow stronger and develop skills to meet their goals

Occupational Therapists (OTs) support their clients through skill development and modifications to the client’s daily life to help them become as independent as possible and achieve their personal health and wellbeing goals. OTs will conduct ongoing assessments to understand what activities their clients can do (and want to do), their functional limitations, goals and motivations as well as offering coaching advice and techniques so that they can support their clients to participate in tasks more easily and safely.

Occupational Therapy focuses on a large variety of activities including taking care of oneself (and others), working, volunteering, and participating in hobbies, interests and social events.

**KATS will continue seeing clients once they have turned 18, as we identify continuity of care is very important. If you are an adult client following a therapist from another practice, or start at KATS as a client under the age of 18. You will continue to have access to our services.
